Keyport

Located just off the shore of the bay, Keyport was once home to the Kearney Estate, an 800-acre plantation. Its main industries included farming, timber, shipping, and oystering. The estate was later divided and sold at auction, laying the foundation for Keyport. A reconstructed former house on the site was renovated as a museum and now houses the Keyport Historical Society. The museum's permanent collection includes more than 30,000 artifacts, including many pieces from the town's history. Next post.
